Franchise Program
To bolster its grassroots work with faith-based organizations, FWI has established a close relationship with the MailBoxes Etc. (MBE) corporation and its parent, the United Parcel Service corporation. UPS is a global leader in the shipping and package distribution fields, and UPS recently acquired the MBE nationwide chain of shipping and business services outlet stores. FaithWorks International has partnered with MBE in the Bronx to establish the first-ever MBE franchise location in the borough, using community residents to fill the jobs created by the opening of the Parkchester store. FWI conducted a marketing study, provided site location analysis and worked with Credit, Inc. to secure substantial financing and help the project get off the ground. This venture has already proven to be highly successful in its first quarter of operations, exceeding financial projections and generating high levels of enthusiasm in the neighborhood. This new collaborative effort is slated to create hundreds of jobs for persons transitioning off public assistance and is anticipated to generate large revenue streams that will be used for FWI's other not-for-profit initiatives. FWI has also recently developed plans to launch four additional MBE franchise outlets in the Bronx and in Jamaica , Queens .
