Insight for New Housing
FWI works closely with Insight for New Housing, a not-for-profit organization, which specializes in representing the needs of “People with Special Needs” in the design and development of community structures. Insight for New Housing, under the leadership of founding Executive Director Gregory Bell - who is legally blind, is working on provides housing for the visually impaired in the five boroughs of New York City.
Insight for New Housing has been one of the leading organizations in the community coalition which formed the agreement with the New York Yankees to provide jobs, youth programs and small business support in the $5 billion dollar Yankee Village residential and commercial development project.
Insight for New Housing also sponsors the “Speaking Calendar of Public Service Events” on the local public access television channels. FWI has donated computers to this organization and is working with Insight to identify appropriate available land which can be used to develop housing for people with special needs.
